Feelin Fall

There are so many things that I love about fall. The clothes, the food, and the smells just to name a few. However, there are a few things that I really don't like.

Namely, socks and laundry. Laundry in the fall and winter is so much more than in the summer. Jeans, sweatshirts, and other heavy clothing makes for more loads of laundry during the week. The worst is socks. I have five sets of feet in my family and none of them are the same or share sock sizes. This means matching five different sizes that are not always easy to tell apart.

My mom has been staying with us and last weekend she did some laundry. I came home to a basket full of clean socks...not matched or put away. I gave her a hard time about it and she laughed because she knew that it was kind of a daunting task. One tip I have found is that each kid has their own "type" of sock. Emily's are the easiest because they are ruffly or pink girly colors on them. It is Palmer and Logan that are the hardest. So I bought Hanes socks for Palmer (they have red writing on the bottom) and some other brand for Logan that are grey toes and heals. It has made life much simpler.

Socks and extra laundry aside we are enjoying the amazing weather and start of a new season.

Ohhhh...how I hate socks, too...and it's just me in the house! I remember growing up with everyone wearing different socks and Ab and I were "in charge" of that task. Mom wrote everyone's initials on the bottoms. Good times, good times.
